How the Genealogy Was Researched

A record of the people, methods, and efforts behind the family genealogy.

An effort spanning generations

The 2016 preface and acknowledgements credit generations of contributors, including earlier work associated with German Maniquis and Joseph Roura Maniquiz, later developed and updated by Pet Palomo Maniquis. The authors relied on correspondence, interviews and contributions from relatives.

From paper records to computer records

The book describes research through conversations, travel, family trees submitted by relatives and available historical records. Its author says the genealogy was transferred into a computer database, with individual and marriage identifiers used to manage records.

Scope of the 2016 edition

The acknowledgements report 6,437 registered individuals and 1,749 marriages in the May 2016 edition. These figures describe the underlying research database reported by the author; they do not mean every record is complete or independently verified.

Corrections and evidence

The preface explicitly welcomes documented corrections and cautions that some earlier accounts relied on oral transmission. We will retain source references and review status for each proposed genealogy connection rather than treating every extracted name as confirmed.

Privacy is part of preserving the legacy

The author expressly requested that descendants’ personal data not be published on the internet. The planned online database will therefore remain nonpublic while permission, access rules and a secure member review process are established.
